Bunscoil Gleann Sidheáin has a long tradition of choir singing. The school choir which was first set up under the directorship of Mrs. Bríd Duggan. They have sung at many church events including accompanying sacrament classes for Communion and Confirmation Days and singing for Christmas Day and St. Patrick’s Day masses. The choir is often asked to sing at local events such as the turning on of the Christmas Lights in Cappoquin Town, Santa at the Strand and town twinning events. The school choir has also taken part in Féile na Scoile and The Hallelujah Choir.
Since 2019 the choir members from 4th – 6th Class have taken part in The Peace Proms Choir concerts accompanied by The Cross Boarder Orchestra of Ireland. This is a huge event every year in SETU Arena and both the pupils who participate and the parents who attend the concerts all agree that it is a most uplifting experience.
Staff members involved in choir: Mrs Veale, Mrs Moore and Mrs Scanlan.
